slumber party!

i love slumber parties.

a couple weeks ago, all the sisters, cass, and kylie had a sleepover at lacey and mady's.

lacey made us the most delicious banana pancakes!

i have been craving them ever since!

after dinner we had color time.

the cute little monkey's i colored.

it's hanging on my fridge.

then we played headbands. 

you have a card on your forehead and you ask questions to try and figure out what you are.

so great.

we ended the night with a movie.

then started the next day with another movie.

mckell's weekend.

last weekend was the weekend we gave to mckell for her birthday.

we headed downtown on friday night.

we checked into the lovely hamton inn.

then headed to dinner at CPK.

poor gateway is empty these days.

then we went back to the hotel and got in the hot tub.

and then we had pillow talk.

and all passed out early.

the next morning

mckell and i got up and had breakfast.

lacey and mady went and ran 5 miles.

then mckell got back in bed, and i went to work to do interviews.

then we all met back up at city creek. 

and shopped for 4 hours.

we gave each other make overs in sephora.

and tried on rings at tiffany's.

and these are the only pictures we took all weekend.

i wish jes lived here to be a sister with us.

easter!

we had a lovely easter weekend.

we started the weekend with dinner and coloring eggs with kat and ty.

and we didn't even take one single picture.

silly us.

we also played the newlywed game. and the morrow's killed us!

i guess spencer and i have some work to do.

the next day the girls went and got new easter hair!

lacey did this.

some cancer patient is super lucky to get that hair!

and i turned into a girl with this hair.

after the morning at the hair salon, 

we decided to go see a movie.

after the movie we went to my parents and colored eggs.

lots and lots of them.

we made these totally cute disney princess eggs.

belle, ariel, snow white, and rapunzel.

then we had a little photo shoot.

easter morning,

i was woken up at 7am by my adorable husband and the video camera.

he hid our eggs all over our house.

he also hid my easter basket.

we are weird and record everything with our video camera.

maybe someday i will put some of those vids on here.

they are pretty entertaining.

after our easter egg hunt,

we got ready for church.

we went to church with my parents first.

all 3 hours.

and then we had to go teach our primary class.

so we went to 2 more hours of church.

it was a very churchy day.

but all very good.

then we had an after church photo shoot.

my dad hid our eggs all over the backyard.

i found the most!

and then of course we had another photo shoot while making dinner.
i guess we just really like photos.
and i like looking really gross.

we ended the night with a lovely easter dinner with my family.

and spencer gave me this super cute watch!

the other day at work,

things started out real rough.

to keep our office smelling good, 

we have a candle sitting on a candle warmer.

i tripped over the cord and knocked the whole candle, totally melted, onto the carpet.

it got all over the carpet, all over the desk, and all over my back.

sooo mesy!!!

i thought i was for sure going to have to buy new carpet!

i googled how to clean wax out of carpet.

i read a lot of different things.

but the best option i read said to lay paper towels over the top of the wax, and iron them.

so i decided to give it a try.

and this is what i ended up with!

i was so amazed! the paper towels sucked up all the melted wax!

for the desk, i scraped off as much as i could with my library card.

and then wiped off the rest with WD-40.

so there you have it.

paper towels and an iron.

now if only i can save my poor clothes. 

mckell's surprise.

i have been sooo busy lately!

trying to get school done, moving up at work, teaching primary.

you know, the usual.

so i am going to attempt to get you caught up on my life.

i decided to start with the cutest surprise the sister's gave mckell for her birthday. 

we tried for weeks to come up with something grand for her 16th birthday.

the day before, we came up with a plan.

and i will explain it via pictures.

we woke early in the morning of her birthday.

we sneaked over to my parents to get it all set up.

right outside her bedroom door was this,

a giant box! 

filled with these!

balloons that popped out as she opened it!

then tied to the mirror behind the box,

was yarn.

mckell was to follow the yarn.

and it led here here.

and here.

and all over.

the front yard.

and the backyard.

and the house.

and ending here.

and all along the way,

there were 16 presents,

and 16 cards with reasons why we love her.

her ending prize, a certificate for a weekend away with the girls.

then after the morning surprise,

i got to take her to lunch. just the two of us.

isn't she cute?

then dinner with the fam.

and my mom's adopted grandchild.

then mckell had some friends over for a party.

and she decorated the house real cute!

happy birthday mckell!

 oh, and i spent a few hours in the afternoon of that day babysitting this stud.
